Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse - MS/Telemetry

Shift and Hours
- 12-hour night shifts (18:45 to 7:15)
- 48 hours per week
- Weekend requirement: every other weekend
- Float requirement: yes
Unit and Patient Population
- 41-bed inpatient telemetry unit focused on renal and limb preservation patients
- Patient diagnoses include ESRD, acute renal failure, vascular procedures, CHF, diabetes, and diabetic foot ulcers
- Hemodialysis patients treated in a separate dialysis unit; peritoneal dialysis initiated by dialysis team on unit
- Interdisciplinary team includes hospitalists, RN navigators, RNs, nursing assistants, dietary, PT/OT, pharmacy
Patient Care Ratios
- Nurse to patient ratio: 1:5-6
Requirements/Qualifications
- Valid RN license in North Carolina
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- Minimum 2 years of telemetry nursing experience, with experience within the last year
- Proficient in management of dysrhythmias
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
Preferred Certifications
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
- NIH Stroke Certification
Orientation and Training
- 24 hours of orientation (2 shifts with preceptor plus electronic medical record education)
- Must pass EKG competency testing prior to start
- Self-scheduling based on unit needs
Technology and Systems
- Pyxis medication system
- EPIC electronic health record
- SBAR communication framework
Dress Code
- Scrubs not provided; colors allowed are navy or white
Required Background and Compliance Checks
- Background checks including local, federal, national criminal databases, sex offender search, and education verification
- Drug screening within 30 days of start (10-panel, negative result required)
- Physical exam within 1 year of start (or within 30 days if past positive TB)
- Fit testing for N95 mask or completion of PAPR training (not required for non-clinical)
- Negative TB test or chest x-ray per protocol
- Immunizations or titers required for: Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Hepatitis B (facility-specific declination form if titer negative)
- Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season (9/1 to 10/31)

- References: 2 professional references within 3 years for travel and acute care
- Annual compliance training and facility-specific education modules required
- Confidentiality agreement and hospital policies acknowledgment required
- Medication safety training certificate required
- Non-Novant Health Worker Clinical Education Checklist required for North Carolina travel candidates
- Corp ID and I-Learn account setup required prior to start
Additional Notes
- No return to office (RTO) allowed after booking; call-offs or additional RTO may result in cancellation
- Interview with manager required before offer
- Photo for badge required immediately after signing contract (passport style, white background, business attire)
- Dysrhythmia/EKG competency exam must be passed with 82% or higher within 72 hours of assignment start; remediation process in place for failures
