Radiation Therapist Travel/Contract Job - Wilmington, North Carolina
Job Overview

- Shift: Day shifts, options include 5x8 hours (8:00 AM - 5:00 PM, occasionally 9:00 AM - 6:00 PM) or 4x10 hours (7:00 AM - 5:30 PM or 8:00 AM - 6:30 PM with 30-minute lunch)
- Hours per Week: 40 hours
- Patient Ratio: 1:5
- Call, Float, Weekend Requirements: None
- Work Setting: Clinic-based; no orientation or dimensions needed, start directly in the clinic
- Work Sites: Float coverage between two clinical sites approximately 30 minutes apart; always paired with at least one other therapist
- Disaster Response: May be required to work during catastrophic events or disasters as part of Storm/Hurricane Team
Required Qualifications
- Valid Radiation Therapist license in North Carolina
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a Radiation Therapist
- Radiation Therapist experience within the last year
- ARRT (Radiation Therapist) certification (ARRT T)
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
Orientation & Onboarding
- No formal orientation or dimensions required; start directly in the clinic
- Unit orientation details TBD
- Scrubs: Not provided; Royal Blue color recommended
Systems & Equipment
- Use of ARIA electronic medical record system
- Work with Varian linacs and Siemens CT simulators
Background and Compliance Requirements
- Background checks required within 90 days of start, including local, federal, national criminal databases, sex offender search, and education verification
- Drug screening required within 30 days of start (10-panel, negative result)
- Physical exam within 1 year of start (or within 30 days if past positive TB)
- Fit testing for N95 mask or completion of PAPR training (not required for non-clinical)
- Immunizations and titers required: Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Hepatitis B (or facility-specific declination)
- Negative TB test or chest x-ray per facility policy
- Seasonal flu vaccination or approved exemption required during flu season (9/1 - 10/31)
- Various state-specific healthcare personnel registry and exclusion list checks within 90 days prior to start

- RTO (Request Time Off) after booking is not allowed and may result in cancellation
- Traveler may be assigned to different units or centralized office mid-contract as needed
