Radiation Therapist Travel/Contract Job - Wilmington, North Carolina

Job Overview

  • Shift: Day shifts, options include 5x8 hours (8:00 AM - 5:00 PM, occasionally 9:00 AM - 6:00 PM) or 4x10 hours (7:00 AM - 5:30 PM or 8:00 AM - 6:30 PM with 30-minute lunch)
  • Hours per Week: 40 hours
  • Patient Ratio: 1:5
  • Call, Float, Weekend Requirements: None
  • Work Setting: Clinic-based; no orientation or dimensions needed, start directly in the clinic
  • Work Sites: Float coverage between two clinical sites approximately 30 minutes apart; always paired with at least one other therapist
  • Disaster Response: May be required to work during catastrophic events or disasters as part of Storm/Hurricane Team

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Radiation Therapist license in North Carolina
  • Minimum 2 years of experience as a Radiation Therapist
  • Radiation Therapist experience within the last year
  • ARRT (Radiation Therapist) certification (ARRT T)
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) certification

Orientation & Onboarding

  • No formal orientation or dimensions required; start directly in the clinic
  • Unit orientation details TBD
  • Scrubs: Not provided; Royal Blue color recommended

Systems & Equipment

  • Use of ARIA electronic medical record system
  • Work with Varian linacs and Siemens CT simulators

Background and Compliance Requirements

  • Background checks required within 90 days of start, including local, federal, national criminal databases, sex offender search, and education verification
  • Drug screening required within 30 days of start (10-panel, negative result)
  • Physical exam within 1 year of start (or within 30 days if past positive TB)
  • Fit testing for N95 mask or completion of PAPR training (not required for non-clinical)
  • Immunizations and titers required: Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Hepatitis B (or facility-specific declination)
  • Negative TB test or chest x-ray per facility policy
  • Seasonal flu vaccination or approved exemption required during flu season (9/1 - 10/31)
  • Various state-specific healthcare personnel registry and exclusion list checks within 90 days prior to start
