Job Opportunity: Respiratory Therapist (RRT) - Travel/Contract

Location

• Charlottesville, Virginia

Contract Length

• 13 weeks

Work Schedule

• Day shift: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM (4 shifts per week, 12 hours each)
• Every other weekend required
• Unable to approve time off requests for Memorial Day or 4th of July

Required Qualifications

• Valid Respiratory Care Practitioner license in Virginia
• Minimum 4 years of Respiratory Care Practitioner experience, including experience within the last year
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification

Experience

• 4 years respiratory specialty experience preferred (minimum 2 years considered)
• No prior travel experience explicitly required

Certifications & Compliance

• Must meet all required background checks including 7-year criminal history, education verification, and federal/state screenings
• Required health documents include:

  • Physical exam within 12 months attesting ability to meet job demands
  • Immunizations and titers: Tdap, Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Hepatitis B, Flu vaccine (seasonal)
  • Negative TB test (2-step PPD or Qgold) or chest X-ray if positive
  • Drug screening (10-panel including marijuana and fentanyl) within 2 months of start, updated annually
• Pass/Fail cardiac rhythm assessment required during orientation for adult inpatient positions
• Professional appearance guidelines and compliance documents must be reviewed and acknowledged prior to start

Additional Requirements

• Government-issued photo ID must be carried during hours of service
• References: Proof of 2 clinical references or hospital evaluations required
• Skills checklist and competency exams must be current and updated annually
• Fingerprinting required for certain behavioral health assignments (not applicable to this role unless assigned to those units)

Notes

• Shift is 48 hours per week, with 36 or 48 hours options mentioned but primary schedule is 4x12 hour day shifts
• No exemptions or declinations accepted for required immunizations
• Facility-specific forms and screenings must be completed prior to start
