Physical Therapist (PT) - Temporary Position

Location: Alpena, Michigan
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Days
Hours per Day: 10

Job Description

• Responsible for delegating tasks to Physical Therapist Assistants and Aides.
• Patient-focused activities including assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation following physical therapy standards and physician orders.
• Evaluate patient function using formal and informal testing to assess skeletal, neurological, respiratory, and cardiovascular status.
• Develop goal-specific treatment plans based on assessment data and patient tolerance.
• Submit written treatment plans as part of the authorized plan of care; update plans as patient status changes.
• Create treatment schedules specifying frequency and duration, coordinating with patients, families, and clinical support staff.
• Educate patients, families, and caregivers on pathology, prognosis, treatment rationale, and alternatives including rest, exercise, and modalities.

Required Qualifications

• Active Michigan Physical Therapist (PT) license.
• Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Work history and skills checklist relevant to Physical Therapy, current within the last year.
• Two supervisory reference forms completed within the last two years.

Preferred Qualifications

• Acute Care experience is highly preferred.
• Pediatric experience is preferred; candidates uncomfortable with pediatric patients will not be scheduled with them.

Additional Information

• Candidates must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility (local candidates will not be considered).
• Dress code is business casual.
