Job Opportunity: Mammographer I
Location
- Oklahoma City, Oklahoma
Job Summary
- Perform specialized breast imaging services to assist providers in diagnosing, treating, and monitoring breast conditions and diseases.
- Work primarily in outpatient settings.
- Support a mobile mammography unit that travels weekly to various sites across Oklahoma.
Responsibilities
- Perform diagnostic mammography imaging under general supervision.
- Prepare patients for procedures and review clinical history.
- Communicate clearly with patients and families about testing and results timelines.
- Use specialized mammography equipment and techniques following established guidelines.
- Conduct post-test quality reviews to ensure compliance with departmental and accreditation standards.
- Transfer images and data to electronic health systems and prepare studies for physician reporting.
- Perform equipment quality control, cleaning, and maintenance per regulatory guidelines.
- Assist with quality assurance and performance improvement activities.
- May participate in teaching and mentoring students or new team members.
- Support inventory management to maintain supply availability.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Contract Length
- 13 weeks
Work Schedule
- 8 hours per day, 40 hours per week
Required Qualifications
- Mammography Technologist with a minimum of 3 years of experience.
- Mammography Technologist experience within the last year.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association.
Skills
- Knowledge of mammography principles, radiologic technology, medical imaging, medical terminology, and patient positioning.
- Foundational understanding of normal and abnormal anatomy and physiology related to mammography.
- Ability to perform exams and basic post-processing analysis with general supervision.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to prioritize and complete clinical and non-clinical tasks with guidance, developing independence over time.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and remain composed in stressful situations with support.

- The role involves travel with a mobile mammography coach to various locations weekly.
- Hotel and food expenses are covered during travel weeks.
