Physical Therapist (PT) - Travel Position
Location: Los Alamos, New Mexico
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Position Details
- Specialty: Generalist Physical Therapist
- Setting: Outpatient Physical Therapy
- Shift: Monday to Friday, Day shift
- Hours: 40 hours per week, no weekend or call requirements
- Number of Openings: 1
- Patient Population: Adult (no infants)
- Patient Ratio: 1:1 direct therapist/client, 45-minute appointments
- Common Diagnoses/Treatments:
- Low Back Pain (LBP)
- Total Knee Arthroplasty (TKA)
- Neck Pain
- Ankle Sprains
- Carpal Tunnel Syndrome (CTS)
- Total Shoulder Arthroplasty (TSA)
- Reverse TSA (RTSA)
- Rotator Cuff (RTC) Repair
- Equipment Used: Therapeutic exercise (Therex), manual therapy, electrical stimulation (Estim), ultrasound (US)
- Work Environment: Able to work independently with a variety of orthopedic patients/conditions
Required Qualifications
- Valid Physical Therapist license in New Mexico
- Physical therapy degree (BS, MPT, or DPT)
- Minimum 2 years of Physical Therapist experience, including experience within the last year
- Experience in an outpatient setting
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
- Fit Test
- MMR vaccination
- TDAP vaccine or TD booster
- TB testing
- Varicella vaccination
Compliance and Onboarding
- All clinical staff must be fingerprinted before hire and provide documentation that the background check is in process.
- Travelers may start on a 14-day waiver while awaiting fingerprint results but must be supervised during this period.
- Orientation is held weekly on Mondays.
- Candidates must be located 60 miles or more from the facility to qualify as travel staff.

- This is a 47-bed acute care facility with approximately 300 healthcare employees.
- The role requires familiarity with outpatient orthopedic conditions and the ability to manage a diverse caseload independently.
