Description
Registered Nurse (RN) – Intermediate Care Unit (IMC)
Location: Salisbury, Maryland
Employment Type: Traveler - Backfill
Shift: 12-hour nights
Hours per Week: 36
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Summary
- Provide care for high acuity patients who require more monitoring than a medical/surgical floor but do not need full ICU care.
- Manage patients with conditions such as sepsis, diabetic ketoacidosis, post open-heart surgery, continuous cardiac infusions, and those needing acute continuous non-invasive ventilation (BiPAP/CPAP).
- Continuously monitor cardiac and respiratory status and respond promptly to changes in hemodynamics or respiratory demands.
- Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized care plans.
- Serve as an advocate and educator for patients and their families.
- Work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment delivering critical care.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of ICU experience (IMC/PCU experience is a plus).
- Valid Maryland RN license or compact RN license.
- American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- American Heart Association Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification.
