Description
Registered Nurse (Emergency Department) - Travel Position
Location: Longview, Texas
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Nights, 8 PM – 8 AM
Employment Type: Full Time, Travel
Job Summary
- Provide independent nursing care in an emergency department setting, managing routine and complex patient needs.
- Utilize the nursing process: assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation.
- Address psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families.
- Administer medications and treatments per protocol; monitor for side effects and effectiveness.
- Document patient history, symptoms, medications, and care provided.
- Educate patients, families, and caregivers based on assessed learning needs.
- Delegate and assign tasks to other care providers to manage clinical situations effectively.
Required Qualifications
Education & Experience
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing required.
- Minimum 1 year of Emergency Department (ED) nursing experience within the last year required.
Licenses & Certifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Texas.
- Current BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association.
- Current ACLS certification.
- Current PALS certification issued by the American Heart Association.
- Current TNCC certification.
Orientation & Onboarding
- New experienced RNs must complete New Nurses Orientation within 30 days of hire.
- New hires receive preceptorship by trained staff and must complete organizational and Emergency Department-specific competency validations.
- Newly licensed RNs may participate in a residency or specific orientation program with documented skills and competency completion.
- Annual competency verification is required.
Work Schedule
- 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (8 PM to 8 AM).
Additional Notes
- Must meet applicable nursing competencies related to leadership and clinical practice standards.
