Job Opportunity: RN Emergency Room
Location: Cleveland, Ohio
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (13 weeks)
Shift: 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM
Job Description
- Provide safe, efficient, age-specific nursing care using the nursing process to help patients and families attain, maintain, regain, and sustain optimal health.
- Deliver relationship-based nursing care with effective communication and collaboration to optimize patient outcomes.
- Demonstrate technical skills and safe practice in care delivery.
- Use a variety of technical equipment (e.g., stethoscopes, thermometers, sphygmomanometers, electronic monitoring devices) to meet patient needs and prescribed therapies.
- Handle Protected Health Information (PHI) as part of regular responsibilities.
- Contribute to professional nursing practice and self-development.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Ohio.
- Minimum of 1 year of Emergency Department (ED) experience within the last year.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association.
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification.
- National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification.
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
Certifications and Health Requirements
- Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS (as applicable).
- Immunizations and Health Screenings:
- MMR: Positive titers within last 15 years or booster protocol.
- Varicella: Positive titers within last 15 years or booster protocol.
- Tdap: Vaccination within last 10 years (no declinations accepted).
- Hepatitis B: Proof of full series, partial series with declination, or positive titers within 15 years.
- Influenza vaccine: Recommended during flu season (October–March); mask and declination forms required if declined.
- Tuberculosis screening: 2-step PPD or IGRA within last 6 months; if positive, clear chest X-ray and annual TB questionnaire required.
- Fit test for N95 respirators completed within 1 year (specific approved models listed).
- Physical exam within 1 year prior to start, confirming ability to work without restrictions.
Background and Compliance Requirements
- Criminal background check within 6 months, including Social Security trace, county searches (7 years), national sex offender registry, and OIG exclusion check.
- Ohio fingerprinting and FBI background checks as applicable based on residency duration.
- Drug screen within 60 days prior to start (10-panel, lab report required; instant screens not accepted).
- Education verification (highest level) and employment verification within last 5 years through third-party.
- Skills checklist completed within 1 year prior to start (clinical skills specific).
- Competency exam and core competencies completed within 1 year prior to start (minimum 80% passing score).
- Completion of required safety and compliance training modules prior to clearance; annual renewal required.
- Valid non-expired photo ID (driver’s license or state ID).
- Submission packet includes resume, professional references (within 2 years), job application, and employment history form.

- Shift is approximately 12.5 hours, day shift.
