Description
Operating Room Registered Nurse (RN) - Contract
Location: Hilo, Hawaii
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Employment Type: Contract
Shift: Variable (Operating hours 06:45 to 23:15, Monday through Friday)
- Scheduled for 40 hours per week (possibility of 32 hours during holidays)
- Call coverage 24/7, assigned 1-2 times per week plus up to 2 weekends per month
- Must be within a 30-minute radius of the hospital for call-back
Job Responsibilities
- Circulate cases independently for a variety of procedures including General, Orthopedic, Vascular, Ophthalmic, Urology, ENT, Endoscopy, Robotic, Obstetrics, and Gynecology
- Assist with turnover cleaning and patient transport as needed
- Schedule cases
- Use equipment such as Meditech and PYXIS
- Orientation on day shift for up to 1 week (or as directed by manager)
- Complete a minimum of 39 shifts during the contract if requested time off is approved
Unit Information
- Small but busy and efficient Operating Room with 6 OR suites plus 1 dedicated to C-sections
- Typically 4 to 6 rooms running simultaneously
- Scrubs are provided
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Hawaii
- Minimum 2 years of Operating Room experience, including experience within the last year
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- BLS certification
- Experience in Orthopedics, Vascular Surgery, Ophthalmology, Urology, ENT Surgery, Endoscopy, and OB/GYN
Additional Notes
- Must arrive the Thursday before the start date for employee health appointment on Friday
- Do not accept the start date if unable to arrive on time
