Pediatric OR Registered Nurse Travel/Contract Job - Portland, Oregon
Job Details
- Position: Pediatric OR Registered Nurse
- Location: Portland, Oregon
- Employment Type: Travel/Contract
- Shift: Night, 3 shifts per week, 12-hour shifts (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM)
- Contract Length: 13 weeks
- Patient Population: Neonates, Infants, Pediatrics
- Unit Details:
- Pediatric population with high acuity patients
- Level One Pediatric Trauma and Surgery Center
- State’s only academic center with advanced medical services
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Oregon
- Minimum 1 year of Pediatric Operating Room (OR) experience, with experience within the last year
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification issued by the American Heart Association
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) certification issued by the American Heart Association
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
Compliance & Screening Requirements
- Background Checks:
- Must be completed within 6 months prior to start
- Includes education verification, work history verification, international searches (if applicable), EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG, sex offender search
- No open court cases allowed
- Drug Testing:
- Negative 10-panel drug screen including methamphetamines within 3 months prior to start
- Laboratory-based testing through SAMHSA certified lab
- References:
- Two manager or supervisor references from the last 24 months required
- Charge RN references not accepted unless direct supervisor
- Employment Application:
- Must include at least 7 years of work history with city and state for each position
Health & Immunization Requirements
- Physical Exam: Required to meet Aya standard (within 1 year of start)
- Fit Mask: Required within 1 year prior to start (N95 or equivalent)
- Vaccinations/Immunizations:
- Tdap vaccine or signed declination
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months
- TB questionnaire required for all candidates
- Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella: Immune titer, 2 vaccines, or signed declination
- Hepatitis B: Full vaccine series, immune titer, or signed declination
- Varicella: Immune titer, 2 vaccines, or signed declination
- Seasonal Flu vaccine or signed declination (deadline 12/01/2025)
Facility-Specific Requirements
- Professional Appearance Policy: Must be reviewed and signed prior to start
- Job Description: Must be signed by candidate prior to start
- Compass Training Modules:
- Required for all RNs prior to start to receive badge
- Includes Information Privacy and Security, Integrity Foundations, Harassment Prevention, Glucometer, Omnicell Nurse Patient Care Training, Vocera Badge Training (for inpatient RNs)
- Medication Override Test: Provided for orientation (not required before start)
- Respirator Clearance: Medical clearance required for fit testing if done onsite
- Compliance Availability: Candidates must be fully available for compliance needs up to start date
