Description
Registered Nurse (RN) - PCU
Location: Nashville, Tennessee
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Hours per Week: 36
Unit Information
- Unit: Burn ICU
- Number of Beds: 12
- Patient Ratios:
- ICU patients: 2:1
- Med/surg and PCU patients: 4:1
- Staffing: Charge RN, RNs, Patient Care Technicians (PCT)
- Equipment: Ventilators, specialty beds, occasionally CRRT
- Documentation System: Meditech
- Scheduling: Minimum of 4 weekend shifts per 4-week schedule
- Floating Policy: Contract labor floats first
- Patient Experience Requirement: Med/surg experience preferred
- Dress Code: Navy scrubs
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Tennessee
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) / Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Minimum 2 years of experience in Progressive Care Unit (PCU), with PCU experience within the last year
- Med/surg experience
- BLS certification
- ACLS certification
Additional Notes
- Advanced nursing skills are required for this unit
- The unit uses specialized equipment and technology relevant to burn ICU care
- Candidates should be prepared for a fast-paced ICU environment with critical care patients
- Contract nurses are prioritized for floating assignments before other staff
