Registered Nurse - Emergency Department (Travel Contract)
Location
- Austin, Texas
Contract Details
- Travel assignment
- Duration: 13 weeks
- Shift: 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
- No on-call requirements
- Hours per week: 36
Unit Overview
- Emergency Department with 48 private rooms, 27 hallway stretchers, 9 Fast Track beds, and 5 behavioral health beds
- Staff: 111 total, including charge nurses, mid-shift nurses, patient care technicians (PCTs), paramedics, and LVNs
- Patient Ratios:
- Emergency Department: 1 nurse to 4 patients
- Behavioral Health: 1 nurse to 5 patients
- Cardiac/Trauma: 1 nurse to 3 patients
- Equipment includes Alaris pumps, Belmont and Level 1 rapid infusers, Stryker stretchers
- Electronic Medical Record system: MEDITECH

Requirements/Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Texas
- Minimum 1 year of Emergency Department (ED) experience within the last year
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
- CPI (Crisis Prevention Intervention) certification
- NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale) certification
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) certification
- TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) certification
Work Environment and Culture
- Navy blue scrubs required for RNs
- Team-oriented, multitasking, and self-starting personality preferred
- Active Unit-Based Council (UBC) and social committee
- Competitive and dynamic work environment with new equipment and technology
Additional Notes
- Candidates without the required certifications will not be considered
- Preference given to candidates with Meditech experience, trauma experience, inpatient experience, and CPI training
