Registered Nurse - Cardio-Pulmonary Stepdown

Job Summary
Provide specialized nursing care on a 20-bed medical stepdown unit focused on patients with acute myocardial infarction (MI), cardiac arrhythmias, cardiomyopathy, congestive heart failure (CHF), and other low-risk cardiac/chest pain diagnoses. Care also includes long-term ventilator-dependent patients and general medical patients requiring cardiac monitoring across multiple specialties such as cardiology, renal, endocrinology, pulmonology, gastroenterology, and oncology.
Unit Highlights
- Specialized training in non-invasive positive pressure ventilation (Bi-PAP, C-PAP, A-PAP)
- Provides infusion therapy, transfusions, injections, and central line care
- Patient care assistants support with activities of daily living (ADLs), point-of-care glucose testing, and 12 Lead EKGs
- Dedicated stroke unit with all RNs NIH stroke scale certified
Contract Length
- 8 weeks
Shift Details
- 12-hour shifts
- Night shift
- Every other weekend
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Ohio
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- Minimum 1 year of Cardiac Stepdown experience within the last year
- BLS issued by American Heart Association
- ACLS certification
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
