Description
Registered Nurse - Med Surg (Cardiac) - Travel Assignment
Location: Hickory, North Carolina
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Primarily day and afternoon shifts
Weekly Hours: 36 hours
Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
Unit & Patient Population
- Telemetry unit with 24 beds
- Patient ratio: 4:1
- Patient population: Generalized cardiac patients, ages young adult to elderly adult
- Common diagnoses/treatments: Chest pain, A-fib, CHF, pre- and post-care for cardiac catheterizations (groin & radial), VATS
- Equipment used: Life Paks, Zoll, Masimo
- Electronic Health Record system: Cerner (experience required)
- May occasionally float to Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU), Neurological Progressive Care Unit (NPCU), and/or Surgical units
- Family-oriented unit culture
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in North Carolina
- Minimum 2 years of Med Surg / Telemetry nursing experience, including experience within the last year
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification
- Experience with Cerner Electronic Health Record system

- No float requirements beyond occasional unit float as noted
