Description

Registered Nurse - Med Surg (Cardiac) - Travel Assignment

Location: Hickory, North Carolina
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Primarily day and afternoon shifts
Weekly Hours: 36 hours
Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend


Unit & Patient Population

  • Telemetry unit with 24 beds
  • Patient ratio: 4:1
  • Patient population: Generalized cardiac patients, ages young adult to elderly adult
  • Common diagnoses/treatments: Chest pain, A-fib, CHF, pre- and post-care for cardiac catheterizations (groin & radial), VATS
  • Equipment used: Life Paks, Zoll, Masimo
  • Electronic Health Record system: Cerner (experience required)
  • May occasionally float to Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU), Neurological Progressive Care Unit (NPCU), and/or Surgical units
  • Family-oriented unit culture

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in North Carolina
  • Minimum 2 years of Med Surg / Telemetry nursing experience, including experience within the last year
  • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification
  • Experience with Cerner Electronic Health Record system

  • No call requirements
  • Dress code: Any color scrubs allowed
  • Trauma level: Not applicable
  • No float requirements beyond occasional unit float as noted
