Cath Lab Registered Nurse Travel/Contract Job - Huntersville, North Carolina
Job Summary
- Position: Registered Nurse – Cath Lab
- Location: Huntersville, North Carolina
- Employment Type: Travel/Contract
- Contract Length: 13 weeks
- Shift: Day shift, 4 days per week, 10-hour shifts (07:00 - 17:30)
- Hours per Week: 40 hours
- Patient Population: Adults and Geriatrics
- Unit Focus: Cardiac Cath Lab, Interventional Radiology, Electrophysiology, STEMI, Peripheral Vascular procedures
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in North Carolina
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- Minimum 2 years of Cardiac Cath Lab experience, including experience within the last year
- One completed travel assignment
- Certifications:
- ACLS
- BLS issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- RCIS (Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist)
- Clinical skills:
- Must have 3 or 4 scrub procedures experience
- Must be able to circulate during procedures
- Experience in Interventional Radiology
- Experience in Electrophysiology Lab
Job Details & Requirements
- Ratios:
- Day shift: 1 nurse to 4-6 patients
- Nights/Weekends: 1 nurse to 3 patients
- Call Requirement: 8 weekdays and 2 weekends in a 6-week period (may occasionally be more)
- Weekend Requirement: 2 weekends per 6-week period
- Float Requirement: Must be flexible to float as needed, including to a nearby medical center
- Scheduling: Self-scheduling balanced by unit
- Scrubs: Provided
- Return to Office (RTO): Not allowed after booking; call-offs or additional RTO may result in cancellation or Do Not Rehire status
- Must pass EKG testing prior to start
Required Background & Compliance
- Background checks including local county, federal court, national criminal database, DOJ sex offender search, and education verification for highest degree earned
- Drug screening within 30 days of start (10-panel, negative result required)
- Physical exam within 1 year of start (or within 30 days if past positive TB)
- Fit mask testing required (N95 or PAPR training)
- Immunizations and titers required:
- Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella, Varicella (titer or 2 vaccines with boosters if needed)
- Hepatitis B titer or facility-specific declination form if negative/equivocal
- Seasonal flu vaccine or approved medical/religious exemption during flu season
- Negative TB test or chest x-ray within required timeframes
- Required competency exams including Dysrhythmia/EKG competency exam (must score 82% or higher)
Required Documentation & Orientation
- Employment application and skills checklist as applicable
- Facility-specific documents including confidentiality agreement, education roster, tobacco-free campus acknowledgement, hospital policies, and clinical education checklist
- Completion of annual compliance and medication safety training
- Completion of Non-Novant Health Worker Orientation (if applicable)
- Radiation badge required for Cath Lab nurses and techs
- Photo for badge required (passport style, white background, business attire)
- Corp ID and I-Learn account setup required prior to start
Preferred Qualifications
- IV start skills

- This position involves working with advanced cardiac and interventional procedures and requires strong technical skills and flexibility.
- Candidates must be prepared for a rigorous credentialing and compliance process prior to start.
- Floating to other units or nearby facilities is expected as part of the assignment.
