ICU Registered Nurse Travel/Contract Position

Location: Lebanon, Indiana
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Details

• Specialty: ICU/CCU Registered Nurse
• Shift: Nights, 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
• Hours per Week: 36 hours guaranteed
• Patient Ratio: 1 nurse to 2 patients
• Start Date: ASAP
• Floating: Required to float to Med Surg and Center of Hope (20 minutes from main ER) as needed
• Weekend Requirement: Every 3rd weekend, potentially up to every other weekend
• Holiday Requirement: Rotation required (approximately 3 of 6 major holidays)
• Call Requirement: None
• Locals Accepted: Yes, within 50 miles radius considered local

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Indiana
• Minimum 2 years of ICU (Intensive Care Unit) experience, including experience within the last year
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) / Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• ACLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
• BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
• PALS certification issued by the American Heart Association
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification

Clinical Responsibilities

• Care for patients requiring:

  • Pressors, sedation, thrombolytic therapy, electrolyte replacement
  • Cardiac monitoring and drips, hemodynamic monitoring
  • Ventilator and BiPAP support
• Perform bedside procedures including:

  • Chest tube placement, intubation, line placement, cardioversions
  • Lumbar punctures, thoracentesis
  • May require conscious sedation

Documentation & Compliance Requirements

• Background Checks:

  • 7-year comprehensive search including SS trace, county, nationwide, sex offender, international (if applicable)
  • EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG annual checks
• Health Documents:

  • Physical exam within 12 months, updated annually
  • Fit mask test within 12 months, updated annually (3M 1860R or 1860S masks; no PAPRs; no full beards)
  • Tdap vaccine within 10 years or declination
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year, renewed annually
  • Immunizations or titers for Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Hepatitis B, Varicella (with boosters or declinations as applicable)
  • Negative 10-panel drug screen within 12 months
  • Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required annually
• Competency Exams:

  • Medication/pharmacology competency exam (minimum 80% or Angoff score)
  • Color blind testing (Relias version accepted)
  • General competency exam (minimum 80% or Angoff score)
• References: Two professional references required
• Skills Checklist: Annual completion required
