Description

Medical Surgical Registered Nurse - Travel/Contract

Location: Cartersville, Georgia
Contract Length: 8 weeks
Shift: Day (3 shifts per week, 12 hours each; 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM)
Hours per Week: 36


Unit Details

  • Weekend schedule: Every other weekend
  • No call required
  • Floating within facility/scope of practice as needed
  • No blocked schedule requests allowed
  • Must work major holidays if they fall within assignment period (see Holidays section)
  • Orientation hours are non-billable and vary by contract length (e.g., 8 hours for 8-week assignment)
  • Return to Office (RTO) period: maximum 7 days
  • Full compliance with onboarding requirements is mandatory to start on time; delays result in a 2-week pushback due to bi-weekly orientation scheduling
  • Local candidates accepted at the same rate
  • First-time travelers accepted

Required Qualifications

  • Valid RN license in Georgia
  • Minimum 3 years of Medical Surgical nursing experience, with at least some experience within the last year
  • Current BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
  • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)

Holidays

If one major holiday falls during the assignment, the traveler is expected to work it. If two major holidays fall during the assignment, both must be worked. If three major holidays fall during the assignment, two must be worked.

  • Memorial Day
  • Independence Day
  • Labor Day
  • Thanksgiving/Black Friday
  • Christmas Eve/Christmas Day
  • New Year’s Eve/New Year’s Day

Compliance & Documentation

  • Candidate must review and sign the Code of Conduct and Dress/Professional Appearance Policy prior to start
  • Facility-specific documents and policies must be acknowledged as required
  • Education verification can be pending at start with proof it is in process (due within 30 days post start)
  • Orientation and competency exams required by Aya but not necessarily by the client

Additional Notes

  • Aya offers a 48-hour manager review period after candidate confirmation to ensure fit for unit/schedule/expertise
  • Candidates cannot start with pending background checks or drug screens
  • Candidates can start with pending TB test if TB questionnaire is on file
  • Clinical remediation is not allowed for competency exams, but WorkRamp remediation is permitted; failure after three attempts results in cancellation
