Job Opportunity: Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) - Travel/Contract
Location

Position Details

- Employment Type: Travel/Contract
- Shift: Night shift, 3 shifts per 13 weeks, 12 hours per shift (18:45 - 7:15)
- Weekend Requirement: Every third weekend
- Floating: Required to float within scope to meet facility needs
- Block Scheduling: Not specified as accommodated
- Local Candidates: Not accepted within 75 miles radius
- Return to Office (RTO) Restrictions: No more than 7 days
- Pending License: Accepted
Required Experience and Qualifications
- Valid Registered Respiratory Therapist license in Missouri
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a Respiratory Therapist, including experience within the last year
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Experience with Epic electronic health record system

- Airway Management and Suctioning:
- Endotracheal tube suctioning
- Extubation
- Nasal airway suctioning
- Oral airway placement and suctioning
- Oropharyngeal suctioning
- Sputum specimen collection
- Tracheostomy suctioning
- Medication Administration:
- Albuterol, Atrovent, Combivent
- Inhaled Flolan, inhaled steroids
- Lidocaine, Nitric Oxide (INo)
- Pulmicort, Racemic epinephrine, Xopenex
- Medication Delivery Systems:
- Aerosol setup mask and trach
- Metered dose inhaler
- Nebulizer Use:
- Handheld, T-piece, Trach collar, Ultrasonic nebulizers
- Oxygen Therapy:
- High Flow Nasal Cannula (HFNC)
- Ventilator Management:
- BiPAP, CPAP
- Troubleshooting high pressure alarms
- Weaning from mechanical ventilation
- Arterial Blood Gas (ABG) interpretation

Required Documentation and Compliance
- Government-issued ID (e.g., driver's license)
- Criminal background check within 6 months, including statewide and nationwide searches
- Quarterly EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks
- Education verification of highest related degree (cannot pend at start)
- Professional license primary source verification (Missouri licenses verified via NURSYS)
- Physical exam within 1 year of start
- Drug testing within 1 year of start, including specific drug panels; must remain valid throughout assignment
- Immunizations and health screenings:
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccine or declination
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray (2 negative PPDs or T-Spot/Q-Gold within 1 year)
- Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella, Varicella immunity or vaccination/declination as applicable
- Seasonal flu vaccination or medical/religious exemption required during flu season (09/30 - 04/01)
- Fit mask testing (N95 respirators) required and must be renewed annually
- Facility-specific compliance documents including:
- HIPAA Acknowledgement
- Latex Allergy Questionnaire
- Confidentiality Form
- Regulatory Compliance Education (annual quiz with minimum 80% score)
- Hand Hygiene, Fingernail, and Dress Code Policies
- Orientation modules (approx. 16 hours) required for RNs and LVNs; not required for allied professionals
- Badge photo (head and shoulders, white background, no obstructions, taken within 6 months)
- Employment application and references (two professional references required; supervisors preferred)
- Unit-specific skills checklist within 1 year of start

- Guaranteed minimum of 3 shifts per 13 weeks; cancelled shifts must be full length
