Registered Nurse (RN) - Intensive Care Unit (ICU)
Location: Birmingham, Alabama
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Summary
Seeking an experienced RN for a 12-bed Surgical Intensive Care Unit (SICU) specializing in Medical, Neuro, and Surgical intensive care. The unit provides care for neuro and intensive care patients with patient ratios ranging from 1:1 to 1:3.
Work Schedule
- Shift: 18:30 to 07:00 (overnight)
- Weekly guaranteed hours: 36
- Weekend hours: Every other weekend
- Call: Not required
- Float: As needed
Unit & Equipment
- ICU management including ventilators, arterial lines, central venous lines (CVLs), etc.
- Electronic Medical Record system: Cerner
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Alabama
- Minimum 2 years of ICU (Intensive Care Unit) nursing experience, including experience within the last year
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) / Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Certifications: ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support), BLS (Basic Life Support)
Patient Care
- Care for critically ill patients in medical, neuro, and surgical intensive care
- Patient ratios vary from 1:1 to 1:3 depending on acuity
Dress Code
- Scrubs mandatory
- Scrub color: Navy
