Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse - Emergency Room
Location

Job Details

- Shift: Evening, Night
- Hours per day: 12
- Hours per week: 36
- Self-scheduling available for day and night shifts (9-9, 11-11, 1-1, 3-3)
- Weekend and holiday work required every other week
- No call or standby requirement
- Floating to qualified units may be required
- Dress code: Navy scrub color
- Unit-specific orientation provided, including variable evening and night shifts every other week
Facility & Unit Information
- Number of beds/trauma bays: 24 beds, 3 trauma bays
- Fast track available
- Separate triage area present; travelers may occasionally perform triage
- ER holds are intermixed within the ER and managed by ER nurses
- No separate psychiatric/seclusion rooms
- In-house security present
- Patient volume: 80-90 patients per day
- Nurse-to-patient ratio: 1:4
- EMR system: Paragon
- Radiology (X-Ray, CT) located next to ER
- Phlebotomy performed by techs or nurses
- Respiratory therapists handle vents, CPAP, BiPAP, high flow, ABGs, breathing treatments, and emergency gas supplies
- No monitor techs; RNs must be able to read ECG rhythms

Required Certifications
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) or ENPC (Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course) or PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
Required Experience
- Minimum 2 years of experience in Emergency Department nursing
Additional Requirements
- Candidates may not have been employed full time, part time, or PRN with any facility associated with a specific large healthcare system within the past year
This position offers a challenging rural ER environment with a moderate patient volume and a variety of acute care cases. The role requires strong emergency nursing skills, certifications, and the ability to work independently with occasional triage responsibilities.
