Description
Radiation Therapist - Travel/Contract
Location: Florence, South Carolina
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Position Details
- Shift: Monday to Friday, 5x8 hour shifts, typically 10:30 AM to 6:30 PM (may vary slightly)
- Daily Caseload: 25-40 patients
- Weekend Requirement: Only under certain conditions (e.g., inclement weather)
- On-call: Not required
- Floating: No floating required; however, CT/SIM experience is preferred
- Guaranteed Hours: Facility may call off 1 shift every 2 weeks
- Local Radius: 60 miles
- Locals: Not accepted
Required Qualifications
- Valid Radiation Therapist license in South Carolina
- Minimum 1 year of Radiation Therapist experience within the last year
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
- ARRT (T) - Radiation Therapist certification
- SCRQSA certification
Health and Safety Requirements
- Physical Exam: Initial and updated annually, confirming ability to meet physical demands
- Immunizations and Titers:
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap within 10 years or declination form
- Negative TB test (T-spot or Q-Gold within 90 days) or chest X-ray if positive
- Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Rubella: Positive titer or 2 vaccines; boosters if low titer
- Hepatitis B: Titer, vaccine series, or declination; boosters allowed if low/non-reactive titer
- Varicella: Positive titer or 2 vaccines; boosters if low titer
- Drug Testing: 10-panel drug screen within 90 days of start (no instant tests)
- COVID-19: Vaccines highly preferred but not required; vaccination records must be uploaded or a declination form completed
- Flu Vaccine: Required during flu season (Aug 1 - Mar 31); medical/religious exemptions accepted but declinations are not
- Respirator Clearance: Annual medical clearance required for respirator use via RespSafety questionnaire
Compliance and Documentation
- Background Checks:
- Annual background check covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years
- Includes SSN trace, statewide, national criminal, sex offender registry, FACIS 3, and international searches
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 30 days of start and updated for renewals
- Work History Verification: Not required for this facility
- References: Proof of 2 clinical references or hospital evaluations
- Performance Evaluation: Must be dated within 12 months of start
- Employment Application: Complete application or resume required
- Skills Checklist: Must be updated annually for applicable units
Facility-Specific Requirements
- Orientation:
- Completion of First Day Instructions (FDI) and OurDay modules prior to start (approx. 4 hours)
- Modules must be completed on a computer, not a phone
- Failure to complete modules before orientation will result in being sent home
- Photo for Badge: Clear, passport-style photo with solid light background, frontal view only
- Acknowledgments and Agreements: Must sign assignment acknowledgment, code of conduct, employee confidentiality agreement, HIPAA confidentiality agreement, systems user agreement, and user access request prior to start
- Radiation Exposure Attestation: Must be completed prior to start if radiation badge is required
- Dress Code: Black pants with teal top or all black
- Charting Systems: Paper and digital; Aria and Align RT used
- Parking: Free parking available

- Block Scheduling: Possible with prior approval but not guaranteed
- Hurricane Season: From June through November, employees and contractors may be assigned to emergency response teams; avoid confirming new or extended assignments during this period if this is a concern
