Unit Information
- Unit: Cardiovascular (CV) PreOp, Heart Tower (E Building)
- Number of Beds: 4
- Patient Ratio: 1:1
- Staffing includes RNs, CNC support, secretary, and manager shared with CVOR
- Equipment: GE Carescape Monitoring, Fuji ultrasound
- Documentation System: Cerner
- Schedule: Monday to Friday, 5:00 AM to 1:30 PM
- On-call: Required to stay late 1-2 times per week
- Floating: Within scope of practice and experience
Job Description
- Must have CVOR (Cardiovascular Operating Room) experience
- Critical care experience is mandatory; PreOp experience is a plus
- Work independently in a fast-paced, high-acuity patient area
- Perform procedures including:
- Large-bore IV starts
- Chin-to-toe hair removal
- Medication administration
- Skin assessment
- Assist with arterial line, central line, and epidural placement
- Transport patients to OR
- Assist with induction/intubation, positioning, and skin prep
- Excellent communication skills with interdepartmental teams required
- Strong critical thinking skills needed
- BCMA and excellent documentation skills requested
Required Certifications and Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) certification
- Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) Technologist experience with a minimum of 2 years, including experience within the last year
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Demonstrated competency as a Surgical Technologist or knowledge of USP 800 hazardous drug handling guidelines

- The unit is recognized for high standards and uses advanced equipment and technology
- The hospital is a Level II trauma center with comprehensive specialty services including robotic surgery and cardiac care
This position is ideal for CSTs with cardiovascular OR experience seeking a travel assignment in a high-acuity, well-supported surgical environment.
