Description
Registered Nurse - Cardiology (Travel)
Location
- Lewiston, Maine
- 37-bed Cardiology Unit (T3 Cardio)
- Trauma Level III facility
- Patient population includes telemetry and post-op cardiac care patients
Contract Details
- Travel assignment
- Contract length: 13 weeks
- Shift: 6:45 PM – 7:15 AM (3 twelve-hour shifts per week)
- Weekly guaranteed hours: 36
- Weekend requirement: Every other weekend
- No call requirements
Unit & Patient Care
- Patient ratio: 1 nurse to 4-5 patients
- Equipment used: Sigma Spectrum IV pumps, ceiling and portable hoyer lifts, portable cardiac monitors, defibrillators (x2 for transport), EKG machine
- Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems: EPIC, Omnicell
- Common diagnoses: Stroke, congestive heart failure (CHF), atrial fibrillation (A-fib), arrhythmias, cardiac catheterizations/stents, medical-surgical patients
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Maine
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Minimum 2 years of Med Surg experience, with Med Surg experience within the last year
- Cardiology RN experience, including telemetry and post-op cardiac catheterization care
- Experience with cardiac drips with titration
- Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
- Experience with Epic Electronic Health Record (EHR) system
