Description
Registered Nurse - Surgery (Travel)
Location: San Antonio, Texas
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Employment Type: Travel
Shift: Monday to Friday, 7 AM – 3 PM (schedule may vary based on case start times)
Work Schedule: 5 days per week, 8 hours per day
Work Type: Full Time
Job Summary
- Provide circulating nursing care in the operating room with experience in surgical specialties including ENT, Ophthalmology, Podiatry, Gynecology, and Plastic Surgery.
- Practice independently in a clinical setting, managing routine and complex care.
- Make appropriate assignments and delegate tasks to other care providers to manage clinical situations effectively.
- Deliver nursing care consistent with ANA Scope and Standards of Practice, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation.
- Address complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families.
- Administer medications and treatments following protocols, monitoring for side effects and effectiveness.
- Document patient history, symptoms, medications, and care provided.
- Assess learning needs and provide education to patients, families, and caregivers.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Texas
- Minimum 1 year of Operating Room (OR) experience, including experience within the last year
- Experience in surgical specialties including ENT, Ophthalmology, OB/GYN, and Plastic Surgery
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
