Registered Nurse (MS/Tele) - Travel/Contract Position
Location: Memphis, Tennessee
Shift: Day shift, 3 shifts of 12 hours each (7:00 AM - 7:00 PM)
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Hours per Week: 36 hours (option for 4x12 shifts, 48 hours, also available)
Job Details
- Strict requirement of 2 years recent nursing experience; first-time travelers accepted only if they have 3 years recent experience.
- No local candidates accepted (must be outside a 100-mile radius).
- On-call and weekend shifts required on a rotating basis; weekend block scheduling generally not accommodated.
- Large hospital experience preferred.
- Pending licenses are not accepted; all travelers must comply with Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) guidelines.
- Return to Office (RTO) restrictions must be submitted with the application; late submissions will not be approved by the facility.
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Tennessee
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Minimum 2 years of Med Surg / Telemetry nursing experience, with experience within the last year
- Completion of at least one travel nursing assignment
- ACLS certification
- BLS certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
Required Documents & Compliance
- Two forms of government-issued ID (e.g., driver’s license, social security card, passport).
- Background check within 60 days of start, including statewide, county, federal searches, and education verification.
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 30 days of start and annually thereafter.
- Education verification required (diploma/transcript not accepted in lieu).
- Separate sex offender search and Tennessee Adult Abuse Registry search (for TN candidates).
- Negative 10-panel drug test within 30 days of start (no pending results accepted).
- Physical exam within 1 year of start, attesting to ability to meet job demands.
- Fit test for 3M N-95 masks within 1 year of start (must pass without limitations).
- Immunizations:
- Proof of immunity or vaccination for Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella (2 vaccines or positive titer with boosters if needed).
- Hepatitis B vaccination series, positive titer, or signed declination.
- TB test (2-step PPD, Q-Gold, or T-spot) within 1 year; if positive, clear chest x-ray within 2 years plus annual TB questionnaire.
- Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season (Oct 1 - Apr 30); exemptions require mask-wearing in patient areas and may delay start.
- Photo badge meeting strict guidelines (passport-style, no glasses glare, no head coverings except religious, no piercings visible).
Additional Requirements
- Completion of competency exams and core training modules annually as applicable.
- EPIC questionnaire required for RNs; EPIC experience may allow testing out of training.
- Facility-specific dress code: Navy blue scrubs for RNs; no prints or embroidered scrubs allowed.
- Confidentiality acknowledgment must be signed prior to start.
- Submission packet including application, references, skills checklist, license verification, and certifications required.
Scheduling Notes
- Shift times may be adjusted based on manager needs during interview.
- Weekend and on-call shifts are part of the rotation.
- Block weekend scheduling generally not allowed but may be considered in some cases.
