Description
Registered Nurse – Operating Room
Location: Sitka, Alaska
Employment Type: Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Full time, 4 shifts per week (10 hours each), Tuesday through Friday
Hours per Week: 40 hours
On Call: Required for nights, holidays, and weekends
Position Summary
- Work within the Operating Room handling elective and emergency surgical cases including abdominal, thoracic, urology, ENT, plastic, orthopedics, vascular, and OB/GYN surgeries.
- Efficiently multi-task to ensure surgical cases proceed in a timely manner.
- Participate in after-hours call services to staff the OR during nights, holidays, and weekends.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Alaska.
- Minimum of 3 years of Operating Room (OR) nursing experience, including experience within the last year.
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing.
- Current Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in Critical Access Hospitals and/or rural Operating Rooms is strongly preferred.
Additional Information
- Flu vaccine is required.
- Start date will be at least 5 weeks after fingerprint cards are submitted and processed; travelers must schedule fingerprinting promptly to avoid delays.
- Applicants must live at least 50 miles away from the facility location.
- Housing and flights are not provided.
