OR Tech / Surgical Tech - Travel/Contract

Location: Eureka, California
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Details

• Specialty: Surgical Services
• Shift: Day (5x8 hours), typically 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM (variable shifts may include 6:30-15:30, 8:30-17:00, 11:00-19:30)
• Hours per Week: 40
• Start Date: ASAP
• Float: Yes, may float to SPD (Sterile Processing Department) and Endoscopy
• Weekend Requirement: Separate weekend shifts available
• Rooms/Beds: 10

Required Qualifications

• Surgical Technologist with a minimum of 2 years of experience
• Surgical Technologist experience within the last year

Background and Screening Requirements

• Background check within 90 days of start covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years; must be updated annually
• Education verification required for all candidates
• Drug screen: 9-panel within 12 months of start (instant acceptable)
• Work history verification required if exceptions to references are requested
• State-specific searches as applicable (e.g., WA State Patrol Search for Washington placements)
• Physical exam within 1 year of start, signed by MD, NP, PA, or DO, indicating fitness to work
• Respiratory safety clearance required annually for travel candidates
• Fit mask test required annually for travel candidates (onsite testing available)
• Immunizations and health documents required:

  • TDAP vaccine within 10 years or declination
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months, updated annually
  • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titer or declination
  • Hepatitis B vaccination series or signed declination
  • Varicella vaccination or positive titer or declination
  • Seasonal flu vaccine during flu season or declination
  • COVID vaccination record preferred; declinations accepted with adherence to masking policies

Additional Requirements

• Photo for badge (passport style with neutral background) required
• Must comply with float policy; may be required to float to other nearby facilities
• Regulatory and specialty-specific annual training modules required via LMS (Workramp)
• No more than 7 days of requested time off (RTO) allowed during assignment
• Prior travel experience is not explicitly required; first-time travelers accepted if they have 2 years of experience
