Certified Surgical Tech (CST) - CVOR (Days)
Location: Midland, Michigan
Employment Type: Temporary
Shift: Days
Hours per Day: 10
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Summary
- Serve as a Surgical Technologist in the Operating Room, specifically in the Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR).
- Demonstrate knowledge of surgical procedures and problem-solving related to the procedure.
- Ensure all supplies and equipment are available, assembled correctly, and in working condition.
- Maintain and monitor the sterile field, recognizing breaks in technique.
- Assist in keeping accurate accounts of medications, sharps, instruments, and sponges.
- Set up sterile fields with instruments in a timely manner.
- Comfortable floating to General OR if needed.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 5+ years of Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) experience.
- Open Heart surgical experience required.
- Experience in a tertiary care center and/or designated Level I or II trauma center.
- Active NBSTSA (National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting) Certification.
- Active American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Work history and skills checklist current to within 1 year, pertinent to CVOR specialty.
- Two supervisory reference forms completed within the last two years.
- Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility (local candidates within 50 miles will not be considered).
Additional Information
- Dress code: Hospital-provided scrubs.
- Electronic Medical Record system used: Epic.
- On-call rate available for CVOR (details not included here).
This position requires a highly experienced Certified Surgical Technologist with specialized CVOR and open heart surgery skills, capable of maintaining sterile technique and supporting complex cardiovascular procedures in a high-acuity environment.
