Description
Registered Nurse - Labor & Delivery
Location: Farmington, New Mexico
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Nights (7 PM - 7 AM)
Weekly Hours: 36 (weekend hours vary)
Call Requirements: None
Facility & Unit Overview
- Level III trauma center with 198 beds
- Labor and Delivery unit with 17 beds and 2 triage rooms
- Patient population: Adults and newborns
- Approximately 75 deliveries per month
- Equipment includes fetal monitors, ISTAT, and Freestyle
- Electronic Health Records: Cerner and Fetalink
- Unit specialty: Labor & Delivery, Level 2 Special Care Nursery (SCN), and Postpartum
- Patient ratios follow AWHONN standards
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in New Mexico
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- Minimum 2 years of Labor and Delivery experience, including experience within the last year
- Experience working with infant patients
- Experience in charge nurse roles
- Experience with cervical exams
- Postpartum experience
- Nursery experience
- Certifications:
- BLS issued by American Heart Association
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
- ACLS (American Heart Association)
Preferred Skills & Experience
- Fetal monitoring
- Stabilization of neonates
- Troubleshooting high acuity situations
- Strong triage assessment skills

- Labor
- Gestational Diabetes Mellitus (GDM)
- Hypertension
- Intrauterine Growth Restriction (IUGR)
- Macrosomia
- Drug use in pregnancy
