Job Opportunity: Interventional Radiology Tech (Travel/Contract)

Location: Chesapeake, Virginia
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Summary

  • Specialty: Radiology / Cardiology (Interventional Radiology)
  • Shift: Day shift, Monday-Thursday, 6:00 AM or 6:30 AM to 4:30 PM or 5:00 PM (4x10 hour shifts)
  • Rotating on-call required
  • Epic electronic health record experience required
  • Neurovascular experience preferred

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Interventional Radiology Technologist license in Virginia
  • Minimum 3 years of Interventional Radiology Technologist experience, including experience within the last year
  • ARRT CI (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists - Cardiovascular Interventional) certification required
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required (AHA only)
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification required (AHA only)
  • Experience with Epic electronic health record system

Compliance & Documentation Requirements

  • Government-issued photo ID must be carried during work hours
  • Background checks: 7-year criminal history check covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years, EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG checks required and must be updated annually
  • Fingerprinting required via Virginia VSP National Criminal Background Check process
  • Primary source verification of state license required
  • Physical exam within 12 months of start date, updated annually
  • Fit test for N95 mask required within 1 year of start date; PAPR not allowed
  • Negative TB test (PPD, QGold, or Tspot) within 1 year of start date; annual testing required
  • Immunization/titer requirements within 10 years for:
    • Rubeola (Measles)
    • Mumps
    • Rubella
    • Hepatitis B (or declination)
    • Varicella (or declination, except for Mother Baby/infant care specialties)
  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccine required within past 10 years for certain units (not applicable here)
  • Seasonal flu vaccination required annually between October 31 and April 30; medical/religious exemptions allowed with mask requirement
  • COVID-19 vaccine preferred but not required; documentation collected if available
  • Negative 10-panel drug screen within 12 months of start date

Additional Requirements

  • Passport-style photo (shoulders up, front-facing, plain background) required before start
  • Completion of unit-specific skills checklist annually
  • Proof of 2 professional references required
  • Completed employment application/resume required
  • Acknowledgement of orientation safety manual and pass/fail testing as applicable
  • Medication/pharmacology competency exam and color blindness testing as applicable
