Registered Nurse - Emergency Room

Location: Cheraw, South Carolina
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (13 weeks)
Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM

Job Summary

• Provide professional nursing care in the Emergency Room setting.
• Assess patient needs through history, observation, physical exams, and diagnostic data.
• Plan and implement individualized nursing care based on holistic, age-specific needs.
• Deliver nursing interventions consistent with physician-prescribed plans of care.
• Conduct hourly patient rounds following service excellence standards.
• Foster a caring, compassionate, and respectful environment for patients, families, and visitors.
• Use appropriate health and safety equipment to protect patients and staff.
• Care for central lines, Foley catheters, pressure ulcers, ventilators (if applicable), restraints, and patients at risk for falls.
• Serve as charge nurse when assigned, including advanced resuscitative certification as appropriate.
• Precept novice employees and contribute to departmental performance and evidence-based practice initiatives.
• Engage in continued professional growth through goal setting and educational opportunities.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in South Carolina
• Minimum 1 year of Emergency Department (ED) experience within the last year
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) issued by the American Heart Association
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
• Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC)
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
