Job Opportunity: ER Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)
Location: Memphis, Tennessee
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Nights (4 shifts per week, 12 hours each, 7 PM to 7 AM)
Hours per Week: 48
Job Summary
- Work in a Level I Trauma Center, Short Term Acute Care hospital.
- Strict requirement for recent ER experience and Level I Trauma experience.
- Must be willing to work 48 hours per week.
- Large hospital experience preferred.
- On-call and weekend shifts required as needed (no full weekend block scheduling, but weekend blocks may be considered).
- Local candidates within 100 miles are not accepted (travel-only position).
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Tennessee
- Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department (ED) experience, including experience within the last year
- At least 2 years of total travel nursing experience
- Current ACLS certification
- Current BLS certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- Current PALS certification
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Experience working with Level I Trauma patients
Compliance and Documentation Requirements
- Two forms of government-issued ID (e.g., driver’s license, social security card, passport).
- Background checks within 60 days of start including statewide, county, federal, and education verification.
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 30 days of start and annually thereafter.
- Sex offender search and Tennessee Adult Abuse Registry search required.
- Education verification required (diploma/transcript not accepted in lieu).
- Physical exam within 1 year attesting ability to meet job demands.
- Negative 10-panel drug test within 30 days of start (no pending compliance allowed).
- Fit test for 3M N-95 masks within 1 year of start (must pass; facial hair not allowed).
- Immunizations and titers required:
- Measles, Mumps, Rubella (proof of 2 vaccines or positive titer with boosters if low/equivocal)
- Varicella (proof of 2 vaccines or positive titer with boosters if low/equivocal)
- Hepatitis B (3-shot series, positive titer, or signed declination)
- Seasonal flu vaccine or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season (Oct 1–Apr 30)
- Negative TB test (2-step PPD, Q-Gold, or T-spot) within 1 year; if positive, clear chest x-ray within 2 years plus annual TB questionnaire.
- Photo for badge with strict guidelines (passport-style, no glasses, no head coverings except religious, no piercings visible).
Additional Requirements
- Must be willing to work 48 hours per week.
- On-call and weekend shifts as needed.
- No acceptance of local candidates within 100 miles.
- All Return to Office (RTO) restrictions must be included at submission.
- Must comply with all submission packet requirements including references, skills checklist, and internal evaluations if applicable.
- Dress code: Navy blue scrubs for RNs; no prints or embroidered scrubs allowed.
Preferred Experience and Skills
- Experience in a large hospital setting.
- Level I Trauma experience mandatory.
Summary
This is a night shift travel Registered Nurse position in a Level I Trauma Center ER requiring a minimum of 3 years recent ER experience and 2 years travel nursing experience.
