    Job Opportunity: Nuclear Medicine Tech

    Location: Orange, California
    Employment Type: Travel/Contract
    Contract Length: 13 weeks


    Job Description

    • Perform Nuclear Medicine procedures including PET scans (prior PET scan experience preferred but training available onsite).
    • Schedule: Monday to Friday, 5 days a week, 8-hour shifts (8:00 AM - 4:30 PM orientation shifts likely for first two weeks).
    • No weekends or holidays required.
    • Optional call shifts available (Monday-Friday 4:30 AM - 10:00 PM; Saturday-Sunday 6:00 AM - 10:00 PM) with a 60-minute response time, but call is not mandatory.
    • Orientation is reduced with zero non-billable orientation hours compared to standard 40 hours.

    Required Qualifications

    • Valid Nuclear Medicine Technologist license in California.
    • Minimum 2 years of Nuclear Medicine Technologist experience, including experience within the last year.
    • At least 2 years of total travel experience as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist.
    • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

    Orientation & Scheduling

    • Orientation shifts typically 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM for approximately two weeks.
    • Scheduling requests due to outside employment will not be considered.
    • Facility may call off once per two-week pay period.

    Required Documentation & Compliance

    • Government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License or State ID).
    • Social Security Card (as applicable).
    • Background check within 90 days covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years; must be updated annually.
    • Education verification required.
    • Employment application covering at least last 5 years of employment.
    • Minimum of 2 professional references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years in a comparable specialty/setting.
    • Physical exam within 1 year of start, signed by MD, NP, PA, or DO, indicating fitness to work.
    • Immunizations and health requirements including:
      • TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months.
      • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap within 10 years (declination accepted).
      • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titer.
      • Hepatitis B vaccination or signed declination.
      • Varicella vaccination or positive titer.
      • Seasonal flu vaccine during flu season or declination.
      • COVID vaccination record preferred; declinations accepted with adherence to masking policies.
    • Drug screening: 9-panel drug screen within 12 months of start.
    • Respiratory safety clearance required annually for respirator use.
    • Fit mask testing required for travel candidates, updated annually.

    Training & Competency Requirements

    • Medication/Pharmacology competency exam as applicable.
    • Annual regulatory and specialty-specific training modules via LMS (Workramp).
    • Epic system training modules required.

    Additional Notes

    • Float policy acknowledgment required; may be asked to float to other nearby facilities.
    • Radiation badge issued by facility as applicable.
    • No weekend work required; call shifts optional.
    • Must be available for full 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday.
