    Job Opportunity: Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) - Acute Care Hospital

    Work Schedule

    • Monday to Friday
    • Day shift: 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM (5 days x 8 hours = 40 hours/week)
    • Hybrid setting: Inpatient and outpatient (typically 1-3 adult outpatient cases per day, remainder acute hospital)

    Job Description

    • Provide Speech Language Pathology services in both inpatient and outpatient settings.
    • Must be able to independently perform Modified Barium Swallow Studies.
    • No call or weekend coverage required.

    Required Qualifications

    • Valid Speech Language Pathologist license in California.
    • Minimum 3 years of Speech Language Pathologist experience, including experience within the last year.
    • Certification of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP).
    • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
    • Must be able to independently perform Modified Barium Swallow Studies.

    Orientation

    • Reduced Non-Billable Orientation: 24 hours (compared to standard 40 hours).

    Documentation and Compliance Requirements

    • Government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License or State ID).
    • Social Security Card (as applicable).
    • Background check within 90 days covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years; updated annually.
    • Education verification required.
    • Employment application covering at least last 5 years.
    • Minimum of 2 professional references covering 1 year of employment in a comparable specialty/setting.
    • Physical exam within 1 year of start, signed by MD, NP, PA, or DO.
    • Immunizations and health screenings including:
      • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months.
      • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccine within 10 years (declination accepted).
      • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titer.
      • Varicella vaccination or positive titer.
      • Hepatitis B vaccination or signed declination.
      • Seasonal flu vaccine during flu season (declination accepted).
      • COVID-19 vaccination record preferred; declinations accepted with adherence to masking policies.
    • Drug screening: 9-panel drug screen within 12 months.
    • Respiratory safety clearance required annually for respirator use.
    • Fit mask test required for travel candidates, updated annually.
    • Annual completion of regulatory and specialty-specific training modules via LMS.
    • Passport-style badge photo with neutral background.

    • Facility may call off once per two-week pay period.
