    Description

    Job Opportunity: Mammography Tech

    Location: Santa Monica, California
    Employment Type: Travel/Contract
    Contract Length: 13 weeks
    Shift: Day shift, 5 days a week, 8 hours per day (8:00 AM - 4:00 PM)
    Weekend Requirement: Every other Saturday, 8:00 AM - 12:00 PM


    Facility Overview

    • Acute Care Hospital with 266 staffed beds
    • Beachside location
    • Charting system: Epic
    • Scrub color for RNs: Navy Blue; L&D/OR/Cath Lab scrubs provided

    Required Qualifications

    • Valid Mammography Technologist license in California
    • Minimum 1 year of Mammography Technologist experience within the last year
    • BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
    • ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) certification
    • Weekend availability required (every other Saturday)
    • Must provide government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License or State ID)
    • Must have a minimum of 2 professional references covering at least 1 year of employment in a comparable specialty/setting within the last 3 years
    • Employment application must include at least the last 5 years of employment with month/year format for dates worked

    Certifications & Competencies

    • BLS and ARRT certifications mandatory
    • Additional certifications may be required based on clinical track (verify with credentialing)
    • Medication and competency exams as applicable to specialty
    • Mammography Techs must provide a hard copy of their Certified Radiologic Technologist license

    Health & Safety Requirements

    • Physical exam within 1 year of start, signed by MD, NP, PA, or DO, confirming ability to work with or without accommodation
    • Fit mask test required for travel candidates (updated annually; onsite testing available)
    • Immunizations and screenings required:
      • TDAP vaccine within 10 years (declination accepted)
      • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months (annual updates required)
      • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titer
      • Hepatitis B vaccination or signed declination
      • Varicella vaccination or positive titer
      • Seasonal flu vaccine during flu season (declination accepted)
      • COVID vaccination record preferred; declinations accepted with adherence to masking policies
    • 9 Panel Drug Screen within 12 months of start (instant tests acceptable; exceptions apply)

    Background & Compliance

    • Background check within 90 days of start covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years; must be updated annually
    • Additional state-specific background checks as applicable
    • Education verification required for all candidates
    • NURSYS verification required for all RNs (not applicable here but noted for reference)
    • Respiratory safety clearance required annually for travel candidates
    • Annual regulatory and specialty-specific training modules required via LMS platform

    Additional Information

    • No floating between units required
    • Locals accepted

    • Epic training modules required and must be completed promptly after access is granted
