Description
Registered Nurse (RN) – Acute Care (MedSurg)
Location: Albany, Georgia
Contract Length: 17 weeks
Job Details
- Unit Size: 44 beds, staffed by 40 personnel
- Nurse-to-Patient Ratio: Typically 1:5, possibly 1:6 for both day and night shifts
- Shifts: 12-hour shifts, 6:45 AM to 7:15 PM (days)
- Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
- Holiday Requirement: As needed
- Floating: Required to float to all acute care and cardiology units, including emergency care for acute care patient holds
- Telemetry: Yes, but monitored on a different unit
- Orientation:
- General orientation: 1 week (includes EMR training)
- Floor-specific orientation: 2 days
- Electronic Medical Record (EMR): Meditech experience preferred but not required
- Nurse Aides/CNAs: Present with ratios generally 1:8 to 1:10, sometimes used as sitters
- Scrub Color: Caribbean Blue
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of experience in Acute Care (MedSurg) specialty
- At least 1 prior travel assignment required
- Certifications:
- BLS (AHA)
- NIHSS (AHA)
- Must reside within a strict 75-mile radius from the address on the traveler's driver’s license to the hospital
