Registered Nurse (RN) – Acute Care (MedSurg)

Location: Albany, Georgia
Contract Length: 17 weeks

Job Details

• Unit Size: 44 beds, staffed by 40 personnel
• Nurse-to-Patient Ratio: Typically 1:5, possibly 1:6 for both day and night shifts
• Shifts: 12-hour shifts, 6:45 AM to 7:15 PM (days)
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• Holiday Requirement: As needed
• Floating: Required to float to all acute care and cardiology units, including emergency care for acute care patient holds
• Telemetry: Yes, but monitored on a different unit
• Orientation:

  • General orientation: 1 week (includes EMR training)
  • Floor-specific orientation: 2 days
• Electronic Medical Record (EMR): Meditech experience preferred but not required
• Nurse Aides/CNAs: Present with ratios generally 1:8 to 1:10, sometimes used as sitters
• Scrub Color: Caribbean Blue

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of experience in Acute Care (MedSurg) specialty
• At least 1 prior travel assignment required
• Certifications:

  • BLS (AHA)
  • NIHSS (AHA)
• Must reside within a strict 75-mile radius from the address on the traveler's driver’s license to the hospital
