Job Opportunity: MRI Tech
Location: Santa Rosa, California
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Details
- Work schedule: 5 days per week, 8.5-hour shifts (varied day/evening shifts)
- Day shift: 6:30 AM – 1:30 PM
- Evening shift: 3:00 PM – 10:00 PM
- No on-call duties
- Weekend and evening coverage required as needed
- Minimum 2 consecutive days off guaranteed
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of experience as an MRI Technologist, including experience within the last year
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider certification required
Background and Compliance Requirements
- 7-year background check required within 6 months of start, including:
- Social Security trace with all aliases
- County searches for all locations lived/worked/schooled in last 7 years
- Nationwide sex offender search
- Education verification (highest level achieved, except if high school)
- FACIS Level 3 screening within 2 weeks of start and monthly thereafter
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks updated annually
- Drug screening: Negative 9-panel drug screen within 6 months of start (excluding marijuana/cannabinoids per California law)
- Employment application must include full 7 years of work history with no gaps
- Employment verification for up to 7 years required; gaps over 30 days must be explained
Certifications and Licenses
- State professional license verification required within 30 days of start
- Venipuncture/IV certification may be required (check position specifics)
- Additional certifications may be required depending on position specifics (verify with recruiter)
Health and Immunization Requirements
- Physical exam within 1 year of start, including clearance for work
- Fit mask test within 1 year of start, renewed annually (exceptions apply)
- Immunizations and/or proof of immunity required for:
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years)
- Tuberculosis screening (negative test or chest x-ray within 90 days, renewed annually)
- Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella (MMR)
- Hepatitis B series or signed declination
- Varicella (chickenpox)
- Seasonal flu vaccination during flu season (Nov 1 – Apr 30) or signed declination
- Drug testing: Negative 9-panel drug screen within 6 months of start (excluding marijuana/cannabinoids)
Competency and Skills
- Unit-specific skills checklist required, renewed annually
- Medication/pharmacology competency exam as applicable
- Dysrhythmia/EKG competency exam may be required for some units
Facility-Specific Requirements
- Candidate must review and sign facility-specific documents prior to start, including:
- Job description
- Standards of business conduct
- Code of conduct
- Vendor training
- Overpayment refund policy
- Regulatory orientation for contracted workers
- TB screening questionnaire required within 90 days of start, renewed annually
- Religious exemption forms required for facial hair (PAPR) or vaccine exemptions, approved on a case-by-case basis
