Radiation Therapist Travel/Contract Job - Saint Louis, Missouri
Job Details
- Specialty: Radiology / Cardiology (Radiation Therapy)
- Employment Type: Travel/Contract
- Shift: Day shift, 4 days per week, 10-hour shifts (6:30 AM - 5:00 PM)
- Contract Length: 15 weeks
- Work Schedule: 4x10 hour days with rotating day off; no weekends or on-call required
- Caseload: Approximately 130 patient treatments/scans per day
- Floating: Floating within scope to meet facility needs is required; no floating to sister facilities
- Local Candidates: Not accepted (local radius rule: 75 miles)
- Pending State License: Accepted
Facility & Work Environment
- Short Term Acute Care facility with 1259 staffed beds
- Teaching hospital with Level Trauma designation
- Charting system: EPIC
- Radiation Therapists operate 8 treatment machines and/or simulation staff operate 2 CT and 1 MRI machine
- Patient age range: infants to geriatrics, with a wide variety of acuity (ambulatory, inpatient, outpatient)
Required Qualifications
- Valid Radiation Therapist license in Missouri
- Minimum 2 years of Radiation Therapist experience, including experience within the last year
- American Association of Radiologic Technologists (AART) certification
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Experience with EPIC electronic health record system
Compliance & Documentation Requirements
- Government-issued ID required (e.g., driver's license)
- Criminal background check within 6 months, including statewide and nationwide searches
- Quarterly EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks
- Education verification of highest related degree required before start
- Physical exam within 1 year of start
- Drug testing within 1 year of start, including a comprehensive panel (amphetamines, barbiturates, benzodiazepines, cocaine, methadone, opiates, oxycodone, PCP)
- Fit mask testing (N95 respirators) required and must be renewed annually
- Immunizations and titers required or declinations accepted where applicable:
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (Tdap expires every 10 years)
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray (2 negative PPDs or T-Spot/Q-Gold within 1 year)
- Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella (positive titer, vaccines, or MD statement of immunity)
- Hepatitis B declination required (not mandatory vaccination)
- Seasonal flu vaccination or medical/religious exemption required during flu season (Sept-April)
- Facility-specific documents including HIPAA acknowledgement, confidentiality form, latex allergy questionnaire, hand hygiene and fingernail policies, dress code policy, and regulatory compliance education (annual quiz with 80% passing score)
- Badge photo required (head and shoulders, white background, no obstructions, taken within 6 months)
- Employment application and unit-specific skills checklist required within 1 year of start
- Two professional references required (supervisors preferred within last year)
Additional Notes
- Interviews preferred prior to offering due to technology and workflow complexity
- Guaranteed hours: 3 shifts per 13 weeks (cancelled shifts must be full shift length)
- No block scheduling accommodations
- Parking available with monthly fees; free parking for straight night shifts (not applicable here)
- Must adhere to facility policies or risk being sent home from shifts
This position is ideal for Radiation Therapists with at least 2 years of experience who are comfortable working in a high-volume, technologically advanced acute care setting and are willing to travel to Saint Louis, Missouri for a 15-week contract.
