Job Opportunity: Operating Room Registered Nurse (RN)
Location: Spokane, Washington
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
- Role: Operating Room RN (Circulator)
- Shift: Day shift, 4 days per week, 10 hours per day (7:00 AM - 5:00 PM)
- Float: No floating between units
- On-call: Required 1-2 weeknights per six weeks
- Weekend call: Required 1 weekend per six weeks
- Block schedules: Required
- Patient ratio: 1:1
- Competencies: Must be competent to schedule surgical cases and circulate independently across multiple service lines including:
- Total joint replacements
- Robotic general and urology cases
- Laparoscopic general surgery
- Gynecology (GYN)
- Colorectal cases
- 48-hour shifts are not approved

Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Washington state
- Minimum 1 year of Operating Room (OR) Circulate experience, with OR Circulate experience within the last year
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification issued by the American Heart Association or Canadian Heart & Stroke Foundation
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification
- National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
- Experience in Orthopedic Surgery
- Experience in Urology
- Experience in Obstetrics and Gynecology (OB/GYN)
- Experience in Colo-Rectal Surgery
Background and Screening Requirements
- Background check within 90 days of start, covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years; updated annually
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 30 days of start, updated monthly
- Education verification required for nursing degree; international education requires diploma/transcript or CES report
- State-specific searches and registry checks as required by Washington state law
- Drug screening: 9-panel drug screen within 12 months of start; instant tests acceptable with attestation
- Physical exam within 1 year of start, signed by MD, NP, PA, or DO, confirming ability to work with or without accommodation
- Immunizations and health documents required:
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years or declination)
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months, updated annually
- MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titer
- Hepatitis B vaccination or signed declination
- Varicella vaccination or positive titer
- Seasonal flu vaccine or declination during flu season
- COVID-19 vaccination record preferred (declinations accepted)
- Respiratory safety clearance required annually for respirator use (travel only)
- Fit mask testing required for travel starts (updated annually)
Additional Requirements
- Photo for badge (passport style with neutral background) required
- Completion of annual regulatory and specialty-specific training modules via LMS (Workramp)
- Float policy acknowledgement: May be required to float to other nearby facilities within reasonable distance
- Epic charting system used; completion of Epic training modules required within orientation period

- Surgical services provided with scrub color flexibility
- Parking available at no cost
