Nuclear Medicine Technologist - Texas, Bryan
Job Details
- Specialty: Nuclear Medicine
- Location: Bryan, Texas (floating between Bryan and College Station campuses, ~16 minutes apart)
- Contract Length: 12 weeks
- Shift: Days, 8 hours per day, 40 hours per week
- Schedule: Rotating shifts with weekend, holiday, and on-call requirements
- Call: On-call required; call-outs are strongly discouraged and may lead to termination
- Dress Code: Black scrubs provided
Department & Work Environment
- Department: Radiology - Nuclear Medicine
- Equipment: Siemens Symbia T6 scanner (1 current, 1 being replaced soon for a total of 2)
- Imaging/Studies Performed: Cardiac, HIDA, bone scan, gastric emptying, GI bleed, lung, brain death, DAT scans
- Average Scans per Day: Approximately 12 (including 2 cardiac scans)
- EMR/PACS Systems: Meditech, Fuji Synapse PACS, NMIS
- Radiologist Coverage: In-house until 5pm, remote reads until midnight
- No Registered Radiology Assistants (RRA) used
- Department orientation provided, including an 8-hour rotating shift orientation
Required Qualifications
- Licensure/Certification:
- BLS Certification
- Certified Nuclear Cardiology Technologist (NMTCB-NCT) verification
- Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist (ARRT Nuclear Medicine - N)
- Must be MRT (Medical Radiologic Technologist) certified
- Must be able to start IVs (IV start skills required)
- Candidates must not have been employed (full-time, part-time, or PRN) by any facility associated with the employer group within the past year; PRN employment through outside firms is acceptable
Additional Information
- Floating between two campuses is required as part of the role
- Strong emphasis on reliability due to on-call and floating responsibilities
