Electrophysiology Tech - Travel/Contract

Location: Riverview, Florida
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Details

  • Employment Type: Travel/Contract
  • Shift: Day (4 days per week, 10 hours per day; 6:30 AM - 5:00 PM)
  • Workweek: 40 hours
  • Unit: Diagnostic Cardiac Cath Lab and EP Lab
  • Responsibilities:
    • Perform EP cases one day per week
    • Perform Cardiac Cath/Interventional Radiology cases three days per week
    • EP duties expected to expand as program grows, with Cath/IR duties diminishing
  • Facility Type: Short Term Acute Care
  • Staffed Beds: 223
  • Charting System: Cerner EMR (preferred)
  • Scrub Color: Royal Blue
  • Parking: Included

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 1 year of experience as an Electrophysiology Technician
  • Electrophysiology Technician experience within the last year
  • Experience as a Cath Lab Technologist
  • Candidates must be EP trained and able to perform both EP and Cath/IR cases as assigned

Certifications & Competencies

  • ACLS (AHA or RQI accepted)
  • BLS (AHA or RQI accepted)
  • National certification for Cath Lab Tech (RCIS or ARRT) required; if ARRT used, Florida license also required
  • Medication/Pharmacology competency exam as applicable (minimum 80%)
  • Color Blindness test (Relias) required prior to start
  • Dysrhythmia/EKG competency exam required (100% lethal arrhythmia score)
  • Stroke education CEUs (8 total credits) including NIH Stroke Certification and mRS certification as applicable
  • Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) certification if applicable (behavioral health or ER highly desired)

Additional Requirements

  • Must complete facility-specific online modules via BayCare Online Learning Center within 48 hours of contract signing and prior to start (approx. 4-8 hours)
  • Professional photo for badge required prior to start (clear, solid background, no filters)
  • Compliance with BayCare dress code and tobacco policy
  • Completion of BayCare Health MSP - AHCA Privacy Policy, Affidavit, and Demographic Information Sheet (if not registered within last 5 years)
  • Completion of Hurricane Exemption Survey if assignment falls between June 1 - November 30
  • Foreign education candidates must provide Foreign Equivalency Evaluation by a nationally recognized organization
  • Primary source verification of all licenses required

  • No weekend requirement

  • No Return to Origin (RTO) restrictions in contract
  • Guaranteed hours apply after first call-off per pay period
