Job Opportunity: Ultrasound Tech - General

Location: Missoula, Montana
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Facility Overview

  • Short Term Acute Care / Level II Trauma center
  • 209 staffed beds
  • Teaching hospital
  • Charting system: Epic
  • No parking fees
  • Scrub color: Any for RN/Allied; scrubs provided in sterile units (OR, ICU, ER, COVID)

Work Schedule

  • Shift: Day shift, 4 days per week, 10 hours per day (7:00 AM - 5:00 PM)
  • On-call required 1-3 nights per week
  • Weekend coverage required occasionally (day or night)
  • Float between units expected
  • Patient ratio: 1:1
  • No block schedules required
  • 48-hour shifts not approved

Required Qualifications

  • Ultrasound Technologist with at least 1 year of experience
  • Recent Ultrasound Technologist experience within the last year

Experience

  • Minimum years of experience: Not explicitly stated; ensure to meet or exceed specialty requirements for Ultrasound Tech in Radiology/Cardiology
  • Prior travel experience: Not required

Background and Screening Requirements

  • Government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License or State ID)
  • Social Security Card (as applicable)
  • E-Verify attestation required
  • Background check within 90 days of start, covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years; must be updated annually
  • EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 30 days of start and updated monthly
  • Education verification required for all candidates
  • State-specific searches as applicable (e.g., Washington, Oregon)
  • Drug screening: 9-panel drug screen within 12 months of start (instant acceptable)
  • References: Minimum 2 references covering 1 year of employment within last 3 years in comparable specialty/setting
  • Employment application covering at least last 5 years of employment with month/year format for dates worked

Health and Immunization Requirements

  • Physical exam within 1 year of start, signed by MD, NP, PA, or DO
  • Fit mask test required for travel candidates (updated annually)
  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccine within 10 years or signed declination
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months, updated annually
  • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella): 2 vaccines or positive titer or signed declination
  • Hepatitis B: Documentation of vaccination series or signed declination
  • Varicella: 2 vaccines or positive titer or signed declination
  • Seasonal flu vaccine required during flu season or signed declination
  • COVID vaccination record preferred; declinations accepted with adherence to masking policies
  • Respiratory safety clearance required annually for travel candidates

Additional Requirements

  • Photo for badge (passport style with neutral background)
  • Float policy acknowledgment: Candidate may be required to float to other nearby facilities
  • Annual completion of regulatory and specialty-specific training modules via LMS (Workramp)
  • Epic training modules required for charting system proficiency

  • Some certifications and competencies may be waived for non-clinical or remote candidates
  • Candidates with international education may have additional verification requirements
