Description
Job Opportunity: Ultrasound Tech - General
Location: Missoula, Montana
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Facility Overview
- Short Term Acute Care / Level II Trauma center
- 209 staffed beds
- Teaching hospital
- Charting system: Epic
- No parking fees
- Scrub color: Any for RN/Allied; scrubs provided in sterile units (OR, ICU, ER, COVID)
Work Schedule
- Shift: Day shift, 4 days per week, 10 hours per day (7:00 AM - 5:00 PM)
- On-call required 1-3 nights per week
- Weekend coverage required occasionally (day or night)
- Float between units expected
- Patient ratio: 1:1
- No block schedules required
- 48-hour shifts not approved
Required Qualifications
- Ultrasound Technologist with at least 1 year of experience
- Recent Ultrasound Technologist experience within the last year
Experience
- Minimum years of experience: Not explicitly stated; ensure to meet or exceed specialty requirements for Ultrasound Tech in Radiology/Cardiology
- Prior travel experience: Not required
Background and Screening Requirements
- Government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License or State ID)
- Social Security Card (as applicable)
- E-Verify attestation required
- Background check within 90 days of start, covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years; must be updated annually
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 30 days of start and updated monthly
- Education verification required for all candidates
- State-specific searches as applicable (e.g., Washington, Oregon)
- Drug screening: 9-panel drug screen within 12 months of start (instant acceptable)
- References: Minimum 2 references covering 1 year of employment within last 3 years in comparable specialty/setting
- Employment application covering at least last 5 years of employment with month/year format for dates worked
Health and Immunization Requirements
- Physical exam within 1 year of start, signed by MD, NP, PA, or DO
- Fit mask test required for travel candidates (updated annually)
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccine within 10 years or signed declination
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months, updated annually
- MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella): 2 vaccines or positive titer or signed declination
- Hepatitis B: Documentation of vaccination series or signed declination
- Varicella: 2 vaccines or positive titer or signed declination
- Seasonal flu vaccine required during flu season or signed declination
- COVID vaccination record preferred; declinations accepted with adherence to masking policies
- Respiratory safety clearance required annually for travel candidates
Additional Requirements
- Photo for badge (passport style with neutral background)
- Float policy acknowledgment: Candidate may be required to float to other nearby facilities
- Annual completion of regulatory and specialty-specific training modules via LMS (Workramp)
- Epic training modules required for charting system proficiency
