Registered Nurse - Emergency Department

Location: Wilson, North Carolina
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Summary

• Work in the Emergency Department of a 26-bed unit.
• Patient ratios typically 1:4-5, flexible based on acuity.
• Use of Meditech EHR and standard ED equipment including GE monitors.
• Patient population includes all ages (geriatric, adult, pediatric).
• Common diagnoses treated: Respiratory Distress, Overdose, Congestive Heart Failure (CHF), Dialysis, Hypertension (HTN).
• Shift and hours vary; 36 guaranteed hours per week.
• Weekend hours every other weekend.
• No call requirements.
• Float assignments similar to primary assignment.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in North Carolina.
• Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department (ED) nursing experience, including experience within the last year.
• Associate of Science in Nursing or Associate Degree in Nursing.

Additional Information

• Orientation offered bi-weekly with upcoming start dates.
• Facility is Joint Commission accredited with specialties including cancer care, cardiac care, orthopedics, imaging, and surgical services.
• Located 45 miles east of Raleigh, NC, near major universities and recreational areas.
• Preferred experience with Meditech EHR system.
• Team-oriented work environment valuing engagement and positive attitude.
• Dress code: Scrubs of any color except specified restricted colors.

Work Environment

• Emergency Department setting with flexible patient acuity.
• Equipment includes GE monitors and standard emergency care tools.
• No trauma level designation for this unit.
