Description
Cath Lab Tech - Travel/Contract
Location: Olympia, Washington
Shift: Day shift, 4x10-hour days (6:30 AM - 5:00 PM)
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Summary
- Work in Cardiac Cath Services performing diagnostic procedures, PCI (stents, balloon angioplasty, laser, rota, impella, IABP, CTO), Structural Heart procedures (TAVR, Balloon Valvuloplasty, Watchman), and Electrophysiology (EPS, Afib/Flutter ablations, BIV and pacemaker implants).
- On-call required: 1 call day per week and one weekend every 5-6 weeks.
- Charting system: EPIC.
- Facility type: Short Term Acute Care with 325 staffed beds.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Cath Lab Technologist license in Washington.
- Minimum 1 year of experience as a Cath Lab Technologist, with experience within the last year.
- Current certifications/licenses:
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
- ARRT-R or CCI RCIS certification
- No pending licenses accepted.
- Local candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility are not eligible for this travel contract.
- First-time travelers are not accepted.
Preferred Qualifications
- Rhythm interpretation skills preferred.
Background and Compliance Requirements
- Government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License/State ID) and Social Security Card required.
- Background check within 90 days of start covering all locations lived/worked in the past 7 years; must be updated annually.
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 30 days of start and updated monthly.
- Education verification required for all candidates.
- State-specific searches and registry checks as applicable for Washington.
- Employment application covering at least the last 5 years required.
- Minimum of 2 professional references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years in a comparable specialty/setting.
- Work history verification required if exceptions to references are requested.
Certifications and Competencies
- Certification verification per clinical track requirements.
- Medication test/pharmacology competency exam as applicable.
- Competency exams required as applicable by specialty.
Health and Safety Requirements
- Physical exam within 1 year of start, signed by MD, NP, PA, or DO, indicating fitness to work.
- Fit mask test required for travel candidates, updated annually.
- Immunizations and documentation required:
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years or declination accepted)
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months, updated annually
- MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titer with acceptable alternatives
- Hepatitis B vaccination or signed declination
- Varicella vaccination or positive titer with acceptable alternatives
- Seasonal flu vaccine during flu season or declination
- COVID vaccination record preferred; declinations accepted with adherence to masking policies
- Drug screening: 9-panel drug screen within 12 months of start; instants acceptable.
Additional Requirements
- Photo for badge (passport style with neutral background) required.
- Annual completion of regulatory and specialty-specific training modules via LMS (Workramp).
- Float policy acknowledgment: may be required to float to other nearby facilities.
- Respiratory safety clearance required annually for respirator use.
