Occupational Therapist (OT) - Inpatient Rehab Therapy

Job Details

• Department: Occupational Therapy
• Unit: Occupational Health
• Patient Load: 8 to 10 patients per day
• Coverage Areas: Acute Inpatient and Swing Bed units; may float daily to a nearby medical center when census is low
• Shift: Day shift, Monday to Friday
• Hours: 8 hours per day (0830-1700), 40 hours per week
• Orientation: 2-3 days unit/department-specific orientation, scheduled Monday to Friday
• Dress Code: Scrubs permitted, color must not match other departments (specific colors provided upon hire)
• EMR System: EPIC
• Supervision: OT Manager available on each shift
• Rehab Aides/COTAs: Not staffed

Patient Population / Common Diagnoses

• Orthopedic total joints
• Neurological conditions including strokes and occasional brain injuries (TBI not common)
• Medical patients
• General ICU patients

Required Qualifications

• Licensed Occupational Therapist
• Minimum 1 year of licensed experience in acute inpatient or rehab settings
• BLS Certification required
• Open to OTs with limited acute care experience if they have demonstrated success in previous placements
• First-time travel therapists are welcome

Additional Information

• May require holiday coverage
• Facility enforces a 50-mile radius rule for candidates’ permanent address
• No weekend shifts or self-scheduling available
• Candidates should be prepared to float between two facilities on a daily basis
