Description
Registered Nurse – Medicine Specialty
Location: Oklahoma City, Oklahoma
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Short Day (SD) and Mid Shift (MS) required
Hours: 12 hours per day, 36 hours per week
Job Summary
Provide nursing care to a variety of patients with health problems ranging from simple to complex under general supervision in a hospital setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage an assigned group of patients and document responses to nursing interventions and medical treatments.
- Assist physicians with patient examinations and minor diagnostic procedures.
- Obtain and monitor patients’ physiological data and intervene as necessary.
- Administer prescribed medications, regulate and monitor intravenous infusions and blood products.
- Deliver competent patient care and communicate care plans to patients and families during hospitalization and at discharge.
- Inform patients and families about hospital procedures.
- Make referrals regarding patient care needs to appropriate personnel.
- Delegate tasks to support staff.
Required Qualifications
Education
- Associate of Science in Nursing or Associate Degree in Nursing from an accredited program.
Experience
- Minimum 1 year of Progressive Care Unit (PCU) experience within the last year.
- Experience in Ortho Trauma.
Licensure & Certifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Oklahoma.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association.
