Job Opportunity: Speech-Language Pathologist - Therapy Acute

- 8 hours per day, 40 hours per week
Job Summary
- Evaluate and treat patients of all ages.
- Serve as a role model in professional service delivery and as a clinical resource for staff and students.
Key Responsibilities
- Collect and integrate case history information from patients, families, caregivers, teachers, and other professionals.
- Select and administer appropriate evaluation procedures tailored to patient needs.
- Recognize and respect the needs, values, communication preferences, and cultural/linguistic backgrounds of patients and their support systems.
- Conduct speech and language pathology assessments.
- Develop and use appropriate materials and instrumentation for prevention and intervention.
- Create and implement setting-appropriate plans of care with measurable, achievable goals.
- Collaborate with patients and relevant others in care planning.
- Interpret and synthesize information to develop treatment plans and recommend interventions.
- Evaluate and implement intervention plans addressing functional and emotional patient/family needs.
- Modify approaches based on patient behavior and performance.
- Use standardized outcome measures and instrumental evaluations to accurately reflect functional performance.
- Complete documentation in compliance with regulatory and organizational standards.
- Provide education and family training throughout the rehabilitation process.
- Communicate patient status, performance, and recommendations clearly with the medical team, including next level of care suggestions.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Speech Language Pathologist license in Illinois
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Master’s Degree in a related field
