Description
Registered Nurse (Med Surg) - Travel Assignment
Location: Lander, Wyoming
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Hours per Week: 36
Job Description
- Provide direct, individualized nursing care based on scientific nursing principles.
- Consult and coordinate with healthcare team members to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care plans.
- Prepare, administer (orally, subcutaneously, IV), and document prescribed medications; report adverse reactions per policy.
- Educate patients on surgical procedures and post-treatment home care needs.
- Record patients’ medical information and vital signs accurately and timely.
- Monitor and adjust specialized patient equipment; interpret and record electronic displays.
- Initiate corrective actions for adverse patient symptoms.
- Provide bedside care for a variety of medical patients, including pre- and post-surgery.
- Change dressings, insert catheters, start IVs, and assist physicians during examinations and treatments.
- Respond to life-saving situations following nursing standards and protocols.
- Participate in discharge planning and utilize effective time management skills.
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Wyoming
- Minimum 2 years of Med Surg nursing experience, including experience within the last year
- Associate of Science in Nursing or Associate Degree in Nursing
- ACLS certification
- BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
- PALS certification issued by the American Heart Association

- This is a travel nursing position.
- Prior travel experience is not explicitly required.
- Experience with community hospital settings (permanent or contract) is requested but not mandatory.
