Job Opportunity: IMC Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)

Location: Springfield, Illinois
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Day shift, 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (6:45 AM – 7:15 PM)
Hours per Week: 36 hours


Job Description

  • Work setting: Intermediate Care Unit (IMC) / Stepdown / Progressive Care Unit (PCU)
  • Patient ratios and daily caseload apply
  • Weekend requirement: Work every other weekend
  • Floating: May float within scope to meet facility needs
  • Block scheduling: Possible, to be discussed with manager
  • Locals accepted without radius restrictions
  • No on-call requirement
  • Return-to-Office (RTO) restrictions: Ideally no more than 5 days onsite per week
  • Guaranteed hours: Client may cancel up to 36 hours per 13-week assignment without pay obligation

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Illinois
  • Minimum 1 year of Intermediate Care experience within the last year
  • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
  • National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
  • Telemetry experience
  • Neuro Progressive Care Unit (PCU) experience

Required Documentation & Compliance

  • Background checks covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years, including criminal, sex offender, and federal exclusion lists
  • Primary source verification of RN license and certifications
  • Competency exam required for clinical candidates
  • Physical exam within 1 year of start, confirming good physical and mental health, ability to perform job functions without restrictions
  • Fit mask test required (specific mask types accepted)
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year
  • Immunizations or proof of immunity for measles, mumps, rubella, hepatitis B, varicella
  • 9-panel drug screen within 30 days of start
  • Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required annually
  • Photo for badge within one week of contract signing
  • Code of conduct acknowledgment and parking permit form to be completed within 7 days of contract signing
  • References: Two professional references required for travel/acute care candidates
  • Illinois-specific state background and registry checks required within 30 days of start
  • Fingerprinting must be completed in Illinois 3 business days prior to start (for clinical candidates without active IL license)
